Australia's reply started strongly with half-centuries from Mitch Marsh (84) and Travis Head (85), but the middle-order collapsed. From 191-2 at the 25th over, they lost 4-62 and were eventually bowled out for 333. Despite a late 50 from Xavier Bartlett, Australia fell 113 runs short. Keshav Maharaj and Bjorn Fortuin were the pick of the spin bowlers. The loss extends Australia's winless streak against South Africa, who lead the three-match series 2-0. The third and final ODI takes place in Potchefstroom on Wednesday.

South Africa's David Miller and Temba Bavuma both scored centuries, while Australia's Travis Head and Mitch Marsh fell short of three-figures. Keshav Maharaj and Bjorn Fortuin claimed multiple wickets for the hosts, while Jack Edwards and Josh Hazlewood led the Australian attack. The series is level at 2-0 ahead of the decider in Potchefstroom.

It was another really good all-round team performance, Bavuma said. It started with the bat. Conditions were a little tricky up front but we managed to get through that period and build towards a good total. David played an unbelievable innings and then the bowlers did their job as well. Australia haven't won a bilateral ODI series against South Africa since 2014.
