Egypt striker Hamza Abdelkarim, 18, has signed a new contract with Barcelona until 2030, earning the nickname 'Haaland of the Nile' after scoring four goals in preseason. The club increased his buyout clause to over €100 million to deter suitors. Abdelkarim, who joined permanently in June from Al Ahly for €1.5 million, has already debuted for Egypt's senior team and Barcelona's first team.

He scored four goals in five friendly appearances during preseason and made his La Liga debut against Rayo Vallecano. The striker, currently third-choice at Barcelona behind Raphinha and Gabriel Jesus, credits Erling Haaland as his role model, praising his positioning and goal-scoring instincts. Barcelona's Hansi Flick confirmed multiple options are available for the striker position, including Dani Olmo, Anthony Gordon, Fermín López, and Karim Adeyemi.
