The NFL is expanding its Inspire Change initiative internationally ahead of a season featuring a record nine games outside the United States. The league aims to unify its global community impact work under the Inspire Change platform, focusing on creating access to opportunity for underserved youth. Since launching in 2017, the NFL has provided nearly $575 million in support of thousands of partners and nonprofit organizations across four core pillars: education, economic advancement, police/community relations, and criminal justice reform.

The international expansion will not affect the league's social justice efforts in the U.S. Anna Isaacson, senior vice president of social responsibility for the NFL, stated that Inspire Change has been a tremendous platform domestically and is now being taken global, with priority on reaching underserved youth in countries where the NFL is expanding, playing, or setting up roots through its global markets program. A pilot program was launched last season in several countries hosting games, and the league has decided to unify that work under Inspire Change and extend its reach. Teams will build on the initiative through local outreach, with efforts varying by country and city to reflect local contexts and leadership, whether driven by the league or individual clubs.

The NFL's first international game this season features the San Francisco 49ers against the Los Angeles Rams in the first regular-season game in Australia, scheduled for Sept. 11 local time, with 'Never Forget' stenciled in the end zone.
