Miami Dolphins running back De'Von Achane suffered a torn ACL during Sunday's loss to the Kansas City Chiefs and will be out for the rest of the 2026 season, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter and NFL Network's Ian Rapoport on Monday. Achane was injured on his third rushing attempt when he was tackled awkwardly by Chiefs safety Alohi Gilman. He was ruled out in the second half.

After the game, Dolphins coach Jeff Hafley said the team was still gathering information but admitted things did not look promising. "To be very honest with you, it does not sound very optimistic at this moment," Hafley said. Achane signed a four-year, $64 million contract this offseason and is considered a "pillar" of the rebuilding Dolphins.

This is the first major injury of his career. He rushed for 127 yards on 34 carries in three games this season, coming off a career-best 2025 campaign with 1,838 yards from scrimmage and 12 touchdowns. Behind Achane, Ollie Gordon II had 41 rushing yards and a touchdown on 17 carries in the 24-10 loss that dropped Miami to 0-3.
