Week 1 of the 2026 NFL season will feature plenty of rookie debuts. Although No. 1 draft pick Fernando Mendoza won't appear for weeks, top-five selections should have early impact. Jets edge rusher David Bailey, Cardinals running back Jeremiyah Love, Titans receiver Carnell Tate and Giants linebacker Arvell Reese lead the class.

Non-first-rounders like 49ers receiver De'Zhaun Stribling, Broncos running back Jonah Coleman and Colts safety A. J. Haulcy also create preseason hype.

NFL draft analyst Jordan Reid and betting analyst Pamela Maldonado name early Offensive and Defensive Rookie of the Year contenders, including Draft Kings odds. Matt Bowen picks five under-the-radar players to watch. Dan Graziano offers notes on rookie QBs.

Fantasy analyst Eric Moody projects top 10 rookie performers. Mike Clay provides projected rookie stat leaders. Jeremiyah Love, RB Arizona Cardinals (+550), became the first running back drafted in the top five since Saquon Barkley in 2018.

Love will contribute as a rusher and pass catcher under new coach Mike La Fleur. Jadarian Price, RB Seattle Seahawks (+650), looks to replace Kenneth Walker III and shine in the passing game despite limited college receptions. In his preseason debut, Price recorded 73 yards on 14 touches.

Love's 3.96 yards after contact per rush ranked 25th among FBS rushers.
