BERLIN -- The semifinals of the 2026 FIBA Women's World Cup are set, with few surprises. The United States and France continued undefeated runs with wins over Hungary and China. Spain beat short-handed Australia, and host Germany upset reigning Euro Basket champ Belgium. The host has made the semifinals in each of the past six World Cups. Play resumes Saturday, with medal rounds Sunday. The U.S. women aim for their fifth consecutive World Cup gold and 12th overall; the program has lost only one major international game since 1994. But the U.S. hasn't looked invincible -- missing A'ja Wilson and Kelsey Plum -- and the gap is closing.

Germany (11) vs. France (2), 10:30 a.m. ET Saturday. France is led by WNBA players including Gabby Williams, who helped change the culture. "All we care about is winning," Malonga said. France averages 98.8 points on 53.3% shooting. Germany, without Satou Sabally, is enjoying its best finish ever. Coach Olaf Lange was speechless after six players scored in double figures in the upset over Belgium.

The U.S. faces Spain in the other semifinal. The Americans are aiming for gold but face a tough test.
