Ole Miss star running back Kewan Lacy's left shoulder injury suffered during Saturday's 32-24 win over LSU is not expected to keep him out long term, sources told ESPN's Pete Thamel. Lacy underwent an MRI on Sunday and is uncertain for this Saturday's game at Florida as he'll be monitored throughout the week. Coach Pete Golding said X-rays came back negative and Lacy wanted to play through the pain, but sophomore JT Lindsey performed well enough to remain in the game. Lindsey, a former LSU transfer, rushed for 20 yards on four carries in the victory at Oxford.

Lacy is widely regarded as one of the top running backs in college football. He was an All-America pick and Doak Walker Award finalist last season when he set single-season program records for rushing attempts (306), yards (1,567) and touchdowns (24). The junior from Dallas suffered a thigh bruise that knocked him out of Ole Miss' season-opening win over Louisville but returned the following week with two touchdowns against Charlotte. Lacy has 39 carries this season for 191 yards and four touchdowns.
