LSU Season Opener Roster Cuts Before Clemson Game

Dae'Quan Wright and Zxavian Harris are absent from LSU's roster for the season opener against Clemson, sources confirmed Friday. Both players were cleared to return after brief NFL stints but did not practice extensively. Wright suited up for the Cleveland Browns but was waived in August.

Harris was released by the New Orleans Saints and cited a "business decision" to transfer to LSU. Both were former Ole Miss players under coach Lane Kiffin. They are among 42 athletes suing the NCAA to play a fifth season.

Judge William Jorden granted a preliminary injunction allowing players named in the lawsuit to compete, though the NCAA and SEC oppose the returns. LSU faces potential SEC punishments for rostering players with NFL deals. ESPN's Dan Murphy contributed to the report.
