On Friday, one of college football's most meaningful uniforms will carry even more emotion than usual. Boston College will wear its "Red Bandanna" uniforms for the annual "Red Bandanna Game" against Rutgers, paying tribute to alum Welles Crowther, who died in the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks and is credited with saving lives while wearing a red bandanna. The game falls on the 25th anniversary of the attacks. The uniform features red bandana patterns on sleeves, center logo, and helmet stripe, with "FOR WELLES" on the back of each jersey.

Rutgers will honor its connection as well: pants reading "Never Forget" and helmets with an American flag-colored No. 37, representing the number of Rutgers alumni who died.

Other strong Week 2 uniforms include Tulane's Mardi Gras-inspired "City Edition" alternates, Georgia's first-ever all-white look, Florida's blue helmet with script "Gators" wordmark, NC State's "Wolfpack Warriors" military tribute, Kennesaw State's gold-on-gold theme, and Colorado State's "Ag Day" alternates.
