Spring Training Pitching & Roster Moves

Shohei Ohtani made a highly anticipated spring mound debut for the Dodgers, delivering 4⅓ scoreless innings where he allowed just one hit and two walks while showcasing high velocity, striking out four batters and hitting 99 mph on the radar gun. Elsewhere in the American League, Caleb Durbin secured the starting third base role for the Red Sox Opening Day lineup after being acquired from the Brewers just prior to camp, while Tal's Mayer is now the likely candidate for second base.

Injury Updates Plague Contenders

Pitching prospects faced setbacks Wednesday, as Brewers lefty Kyle Harrison was forced to exit his start early due to a blister developing on his left index finger, complicating Milwaukee's battle for the final rotation spot. Meanwhile, the Mariners face uncertainty regarding their starting shortstop, as J.P. Crawford received a cortisone shot in his shoulder, leaving his availability for the season's start questionable as he continues to manage the lingering issue.
