Cubs vs. Pirates
Baez stunned the Pirates with a “magic” play that turned a routine grounder into a game‑changing double, prompting the Cubs to surge ahead 4‑2 in the seventh inning. The maneuver, described by teammates as “El Mago,” highlighted Chicago’s offensive depth and forced Pittsburgh’s bullpen into early exhaustion.

Kelce entered the Guardians’ board as a minority investor, acquiring an undisclosed stake in the Ohio club he grew up watching. His involvement signals a growing trend of high‑profile athletes diversifying into baseball ownership and could boost the franchise’s marketability ahead of the upcoming season.
Dodgers injury update
Hernández landed on the injured list after a strained left oblique was diagnosed just two days into his season debut, curtailing the Dodgers’ short‑term depth at the corner outfield and prompting manager Dave Roberts to reshuffle the lineup for the next series.
