Swedish defence tech startup Terasi has raised €11m in seed funding to scale its wireless communications technology for military use. The round was led by the NATO Innovation Fund (NIF) alongside Preqin, Creandum, and Project A Ventures. Terasi, founded by Andreas Persson and Marcus Woxneryd, develops software-defined radios that enable secure, jam-resistant communications for armed forces.

The technology operates across multiple frequency bands and can be deployed on vehicles, drones, or soldier-worn systems. Terasi's approach uses cognitive radio techniques to dynamically adapt to contested electromagnetic environments, a critical capability as electronic warfare becomes more prevalent.

"We're building the nervous system for modern defence," said Persson, CEO of Terasi. "NATO's backing validates our approach to resilient communications." The startup plans to use the capital to expand its team in Stockholm and London, accelerate product development, and pursue contracts with NATO member states.

NIF General Partner Andrea Traversone noted the investment aligns with the fund's focus on dual-use technologies that strengthen alliance interoperability. Terasi joins NIF's portfolio of early-stage deep tech companies addressing strategic defence gaps.
