CVC has agreed to invest in Ridge, the UK built environment consultancy, acquiring its stake from Horizon Capital in a secondary buyout. Horizon Capital exits after a successful three-year hold. Founded in 1946 and headquartered in Oxford, Ridge works across the full project lifecycle of the built environment.

Since 2022, the business has scaled rapidly, growing revenues at a compound annual rate of around 23% and more than doubling its workforce from roughly 800 people to about 1,650 across 16 UK offices. Around 88% of revenues come from repeat business. Its work spans flagship projects including parts of Manchester's skyline, motorsport venues globally, the Northern Line extension, and energy efficiency upgrades for Marks & Spencer.

Adrian O'Hickey, senior partner at Ridge, stated the deal is about growth, not transformation. "This next chapter isn't about Ridge becoming a different business, it's about giving us the scale and capability to grow as we always have," he said. Dominic Murphy, a managing partner at CVC, added that the firm understands Ridge's model and brings resources to help the consultancy go further.
