Aphias Capital has agreed to make an undisclosed majority growth investment in SNZweig, formed through the combination of Stambaugh Ness and Zweig Group. The deal is expected to become effective by the end of the year.

SNZweig extends a strategic partnership between Stambaugh Ness, based in York, Pennsylvania, and Zweig Group, based in Fayetteville, Arkansas, that began in March 2025, uniting financial, strategic, technology and transaction advisory expertise for architecture, engineering and construction clients. The combined business plans to grow both organically and through additional acquisitions of firms in the sector.

Steven Hake will serve as CEO of SNZweig, and Chad Clinehens will serve as president. Under the transaction structure, SNZweig Advisors will provide advisory, tax, technology and consulting services, while Stambaugh Ness, a licensed independent CPA firm, will provide audit and attest services in accordance with the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants’ code of professional conduct.

“Stambaugh Ness and Zweig Group have each spent decades earning the trust of AEC firms, and their partnership has already shown what the integrated model can do for clients,” said Rob Wolfson, founder and managing partner at Aphias. “We are proud to partner with the SNZweig team to create the market-leading professional services provider and knowledge partner to AEC firms.”

Lazard Frères & Co served as financial advisor and Kirkland & Ellis served as legal counsel to Aphias. Citizens Capital Markets & Advisory served as financial advisor and Vedder Price served as legal counsel to Stambaugh Ness and Zweig Group.
