Apple reintroduced a ceramic case for the Apple Watch Series 12, but without AppleCare+ repairs are unusually expensive. "Other damage" fixes cost $599, while battery service is $99. Repairing a ceramic Series 12 is pricier than an Apple Watch Ultra 4, which runs $549 without AppleCare+ (up $50 from the prior model). A cellular aluminum Series 12 repair is $349.

Ceramic Series 12 models in Pearl White or Night Blue start at $899, versus $799 for the Ultra 4. With AppleCare+, service fees drop to $69 for the ceramic Series 12 and $79 for the Ultra 4, battery service is free below 80% capacity, and theft/loss carries a $119 deductible. AppleCare+ with Theft and Loss is $4.99/month for Series 12 and $5.99/month for Ultra 4.

AppleCare One is $19.99/month for up to three devices, and AppleCare One Family launches September 14 at $49.99/month for up to six family members.
