TCL today debuted the first Nxt Paper smartphone featuring an AMOLED display instead of LCD. The P80 Ultra leads the lineup with a 6.83" AMOLED panel offering 1.5K resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. It utilizes circular polarization to reduce eye strain and a homogenizing film to mix Red, Green, and Blue sub-pixels for white light.

Blue light is reduced to 2.9% without affecting image quality. The display reaches a peak brightness of 3,200 nits, significantly brighter than previous LCD iterations. Powering the device is the Dimensity 7400 Elite chipset paired with 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB or 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage.

A 5,800mAh battery supports 45W wired charging. The camera system includes a 50MP main sensor with OIS, a 50MP 3x periscope telephoto lens, and an 8MP ultra-wide. A 32MP selfie camera is also featured.

A side-mounted Nxt Paper slider activates an e-reader mode, enabling Max Ink mode for digital detox and extending battery life up to 7 days of immersive reading. TCL has pre-loaded the phone with over 500 books. AI-enhanced Reading can turn e-books into audio books or podcasts.

The device runs on Android 16 and features AI suites for productivity and creativity. Available in Sunlit Gold, Burgundy, and Midnight Blue, the phone boasts an aluminum frame, IP68 water resistance, and MIL-STD-810H shock certification. It is eligible for 4 OS upgrades and 7 years of security updates.
