The US International Trade Commission (USITC) is investigating spatial audio patent infringement that could lead to bans on Apple, Samsung and Google devices in the US.

Boom Cloud 360, a small California audio company, holds valuable patents in spatial audio and filed the original complaint in August. It alleges three patent disputes involving spatial audio processing against devices from the three tech giants.

Boom Cloud 360 seeks a Limited Exclusion Order covering all infringing products plus a cease-and-desist order. Specific products are not detailed.

Apple, Samsung and Google have filed for declaratory judgment cases against the plaintiff. The outcome remains uncertain.
