Apple's iOS 27.0.1 update is now rolling out, primarily fixing a Face ID bug on iPhone 18 Pro models that caused unexpected restarts. The company confirmed the issue in September, and this update addresses it. Additionally, the update fixes a color artifact in photos taken at 2x zoom and a glitch where devices became unresponsive when opening Notification Center and Control Center simultaneously.

For those with older iPhones, iOS 27.0.1 also brings other fixes. If you're still on iOS 26, you may see the iOS 26.7 update instead, which provides security patches for iPhone 17 and earlier models. However, upgrading to iOS 27 gives you access to new features like Siri AI and Liquid Glass tweaks.

To update, open Settings, tap General, and select Software Update. Then tap Download and Install. Your iPhone will reboot during the process. If you want to skip iOS 26.7 and go straight to iOS 27, tap the iOS 27.0.1 banner on the Software Update screen.
