Epic Games has introduced Epic Parties, a new cross-platform voice chat feature available across its ecosystem. This functionality allows players to communicate across Fortnite, the Epic Games Store, and the Epic Games app. A key capability is the ability to transfer voice chats seamlessly between these platforms; for example, a conversation started in the Epic Games app can transition smoothly when entering a Fortnite match.

Epic Parties is designed to be cross-platform, enabling communication regardless of the hardware used by participants. Furthermore, the chat persists in the background on mobile devices or while playing other titles from the store. Accepting an Epic Party invite automatically places users in the same Fortnite lobby.

This expansion builds upon the text chat options rolled out last year, which allow players to invite friends from their list and transition existing text conversations to voice using a "Start Party" button within the chat window.
