DJI has launched its new SDR Transmission II system, significantly boosting image quality and range for professional multi-camera shoots. The Shenzhen-based company's latest offering upgrades from the original SDR Transmission system, which was limited to 1080p video at 20Mbps bitrate and 1.8 miles range, to 4K 60 fps HDR video at 50Mbps to transceivers as far away as 2.5 miles (4 km).

The enhanced system benefits professional productions by establishing reliable links in various environments, from open stadiums to dense mountain forests, and through demanding car-to-car shots or challenging FPV drone work. A single transceiver can connect to up to eight others, each supporting remote control.

For larger productions, the system supports up to five transmitters and 40 receivers working simultaneously. Key features include tap-to-switch between camera feeds without rebooting, latency as low as 35 milliseconds, and support for assist tools like LUTs, focus peaking, and waveforms. It also enables PT P control for adjusting capture, aperture, shutter speed, and ISO on compatible cameras.

The DJI SDR Transmission II transceivers start at €349 or £309, with a Combo two-pack available for €629 (£559). US availability remains uncertain due to existing bans on certain DJI products.
