Blizzard announced a new Star Craft game at Blizz Con 2026, revealing it as a story-driven open-world shooter. The title, simply called Star Craft, marks the first new entry in the franchise since 2017's remaster and 16 years since Star Craft 2. Blizzard quipped, 'it's about damn time,' acknowledging the long wait.

However, the game will not arrive until spring 2030, nearly four years from the announcement. The cinematic trailer depicts a mission from 'the farthest reaches of the stars.' Previous Star Craft shooter rumors surfaced in 2024 but reportedly died in development. Despite the extended timeline, the game is officially confirmed as Star Craft 3.
