iPhone Ultra China Release Delayed Over eSIM Issues

Apple users in China may face a longer wait for the iPhone Ultra compared to other markets, as reported by Weibo leaker Instant Digital. While Apple typically prioritizes major markets, regulatory challenges with eSIM support in China are causing the delay. The country still relies on physical SIM cards, and the iPhone Ultra will be only the second Apple smartphone sold without physical eSIM access there, following the iPhone Air.

Previous eSIM-related issues with the iPhone Air, including cumbersome activation and carrier processes, have complicated Apple's efforts. Apple is reportedly working closely with the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology to address these concerns before a broader launch, making the delay plausible given past supply and regulatory hurdles.
