MediaTek has officially unveiled the Dimensity 9600 Pro, its first flagship chipset built on a 2nm process. The processor features a 2+3+3 All Big Core CPU design, delivering up to 17% faster single-core performance and a 61% reduction in multi-core power consumption. The architecture includes two C2 Ultra cores clocked at 4.55GHz and six C2 Pro cores.

MediaTek's upgraded NPU supports on-device AI models with up to 30 billion parameters, reporting 40% lower AI power consumption and 51% higher LLM prefill performance. The chip also introduces the G2-Ultra NX GPU, capable of console-grade gaming at up to 185fps, and a new Imagiq 1290 ISP for advanced computational photography. Supporting LPDDR6 memory and UFS 5.0 storage for the first time, the Dimensity 9600 Pro aims to power next-generation agentic AI experiences.

While no smartphones are currently available, the chipsets are expected to debut in upcoming flagship devices as MediaTek challenges competitors like Qualcomm ahead of the Snapdragon Summit.
