Talking to ChatGPT is getting better in three ways starting today. OpenAI is rolling out a collection of improvements to how ChatGPT Voice mode works.

First, ChatGPT Voice can now be powered by OpenAI’s three GPT-6 models. Astra, the most capable, has been out for a few weeks. Sol and Luna, the new medium and small intelligence models, were upgraded to GPT-6 yesterday.

Next, OpenAI says that plugins now work with ChatGPT Voice. This includes integration like email, calendar, and Slack. This was a big disconnect for ChatGPT Voice users before, so it should be a highly welcome change.

Lastly, ChatGPT Voice now works with ChatGPT Work on the web and mobile. ChatGPT Work is OpenAI’s cloud-connected agentic system that works everywhere. It’s great to see this focus on voice continue with today’s ChatGPT Voice-focused update.
