Apple is reportedly working on a major MacBook Pro redesign, possibly called the MacBook Ultra, with a launch expected in October. The new model is rumored to bring three long-awaited features. First, an OLED display is coming to the Mac for the first time, offering truer blacks, improved contrast, and better battery life, potentially matching the tandem OLED found on the iPad Pro.

Second, the MacBook Pro will reportedly feature a touchscreen, with macOS 27 already showing hints of support. Touch will be a secondary input method, complementing the trackpad and keyboard. Third, the controversial notch will be replaced with a hole-punch camera cutout, similar to the iPhone Duo, and the Dynamic Island will be integrated into macOS.

The redesign aims to modernize the MacBook Pro with features long seen on other Apple devices and competitors.
