iPhone 18 Pro will be unveiled next week, and while most iPhone 17 Pro owners won't upgrade immediately, several features may motivate new buyers. First, maxed-out battery life represents a key upgrade path. Rumors indicate Apple will push battery life even further through efficiency gains in an LTPO+ display, a 2nm process for the A20 Pro chip, and a possibly Apple-designed C2 cellular modem. Recent leaks also point to larger physical batteries, especially in the iPhone 18 Pro Max.

Second, big camera improvements are expected. Mark Gurman notes the Main and Telephoto cameras will be the primary focus, with a new variable aperture feature and a larger aperture respectively. Leaks suggest the camera module will be 2mm thicker due to an enlarged sensor, hinting at significant hardware changes.

Third, revised design elements aim to differentiate the lineup. New color options including Dark Cherry and Light Blue are rumored, alongside a smaller Dynamic Island projected to shrink 35%. A more uniform rear design replacing the previous two-tone scheme is also expected.
