iOS 27 is compatible with iPhone models dating back to the iPhone 11. In fact, Apple even says that some of its performance metrics are based on testing it conducted with the iPhone 11 lineup. For example, Apple says that apps launch up to 30% faster with iOS 27. This statistic is based on testing Apple performed on the iPhone 11 Pro Max, comparing app launch speeds between one model running iOS 26.4.2 and another running iOS 27. All of this is very impressive — especially for people using older iPhone models. Apple has fixed enough bugs and made such a jump in performance that I think most iPhone users will notice a big improvement when they install iOS 27 later this year. It’s particularly impressive when you consider Apple made all these improvements to performance while simultaneously implementing a ground-up revamp of Siri.
