Apple has released iOS 27 beta 8 for developer testing, continuing its summer beta cycle ahead of a September public launch. Enrolled developers can install the update via Settings > General > Software Update > Beta Updates. This build will likely become public beta 6.

iOS 27 centers on Siri AI, a rebuilt assistant powered by next-generation Apple Intelligence and new Apple Foundation Models. Siri AI enables richer conversations, personal context, broader world knowledge, on-screen awareness, and deeper system-wide app actions. On iPhone, it features a new visual experience tied to the Dynamic Island and a dedicated Siri app for cross-device conversation history. Visual Intelligence integrates with Siri, adding a new Camera app mode and Camera Control improvements.

Apple Intelligence expands across Photos, Safari, Passwords, Mail, Messages, Phone, Shortcuts, and Home, with some features running on-device and others via Private Cloud Compute. Beyond AI, iOS 27 refines the Liquid Glass design with a transparency slider, boosts app launch and Photos loading performance, and adds Photos keywords, star ratings, customizable slideshows, continuous Messages sending, Dual Capture in FaceTime, custom AirPods EQ, easier Apple Pay card switching, and AI-generated wallpapers.
