Premiering October 2, The Last First: Winter K2 promises “an unflinching look at the industry of extreme mountain climbing and its changing culture.” The documentary follows Icelander John Snorri Sigurjónsson and the Pakistani father-son team of Ali and Sajid Sadpara as they attempt to summit K2 in winter 2021. The film explores strategy, determination, class, caste, money, and power under life-and-death conditions. It currently holds a rare 100% Rotten Tomatoes score and was a Sundance Film Festival selection.
