OpenAI is restricting the cyber capabilities of its forthcoming Astra model after internal testing showed it can devise and execute novel hacks against difficult targets with only limited human input. The company added security layers to reduce misuse risks, according to a Tuesday blog post.

Honeywell Aerospace agreed to a $2 million settlement with a former employee who accused the Phoenix-based government contractor of failing to comply with required federal cybersecurity measures on a Defense Department network from April 2020 through December 2023.
