Elon Musk's political group, America PAC, has launched advertising campaigns in three key Senate races, focusing on transgender issues. The ads target Democratic nominees James Talarico in Texas, Sherrod Brown in Ohio, and Josh Turek in Iowa, accusing them of supporting policies that allow men in women's sports and taxpayer-funded gender transition procedures for minors.

The ads have drawn sharp responses from the campaigns, which label the claims as distortions. Talarico's spokesman, JT Ennis, called the ads lies from billionaire-backed groups, while Brown's campaign manager, Patrick Eisenhauer, accused the PAC of trying to bail out opponents. Turek's spokeswoman, Hannah Goss, similarly dismissed the attacks.

Musk, who spent over $250 million supporting Republicans in the 2024 election, had a strained relationship with former President Donald Trump but has recently re-aligned with the GOP. His PAC is now deploying similar tactics in these competitive races, which could influence control of the Senate.

The controversies stem from votes and statements by the candidates, including Talarico's comment about God being nonbinary and votes on transgender-related bills. Fact-checking outlets have noted that some claims in the ads are misleading or lack context.
