Dennis Haskins, who played Principal Richard Belding on the teen sitcom "Saved by the Bell," died on Sunday in Burbank, Calif. He was 75. His friend and caretaker, Kimberly Snow, confirmed the death, noting he had been in an assisted living facility since a Parkinson's diagnosis eight years ago. Mr. Haskins played the exasperated but well-meaning principal of Bayside High throughout the show’s four-season run from 1989 to 1992, serving as a foil to Zack Morris and friends Screech, Slater, Lisa, Jessie, and Kelly.

He reprised the role in "Saved by the Bell: Hawaiian Style" (1992), "Saved by the Bell: Wedding in Las Vegas" (1994), "Saved by the Bell: The College Years" (1993–1994), and the spinoff "Saved by the Bell: The New Class" (1993–2000). Born Dennis Button Haskins IV on Nov. 18, 1950, in Chattanooga, Tenn., he attended the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga before leaving in the 1970s to pursue entertainment in California. He returned in 2015 to complete his degree in theater and speech and donated his "Saved by the Bell" scripts to the university library.

He is survived by no immediate information on survivors.
