Turkish officials are trying to stop a meltdown at some of the country’s most prominent asset managers from infecting the wider financial industry. Regulators announced a wave of measures on Thursday to stem the turmoil, including plans to liquidate about $20 billion in funds run by Tera Portfoy and others, as well as criminal complaints against dozens of people and trading bans over alleged share-price manipulation. Officials also pledged measures to ease a liquidity crunch to ensure the crisis doesn’t spread.
