India’s IPO market is thriving despite weakness in the broader stock market, with listing proceeds topping $9 billion in the July-September quarter—the highest ever for the period. This has lifted annual fundraising to over $13 billion, fueling expectations of another blockbuster year in 2026. A deep pool of domestic liquidity and sustained institutional demand are driving new listings, even as the NSE Nifty 50 Index faces its longest losing streak since the dot-com bubble era, down nearly 5% this quarter.

About 144 companies have regulatory approval to launch offerings, including Oravel Stays, Torrent Gas, and Sify Infinit Spaces, while another 73, such as Carlsberg India and Make My Trip India, await clearance. The pipeline includes Jio Platforms’ planned $3.1 billion offering, Avaada Electro’s $800 million IPO, and a potential $400 million deal from Advanta Enterprises. A strong final quarter could push 2026 fundraising close to the $20 billion-plus records of the past two years.

Meanwhile, Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal will hold bilateral talks with his US counterpart to advance an interim trade deal. In other news, Asian stocks rose early Wednesday on tech gains, while bonds await a key US inflation reading. Nomura notes healthy auto demand in India, though inflation and interest rates pose risks, and Emkay reports strong housing demand in Bengaluru, with prices rising 5% to 7%.
