Wembley Stadium will host its first American college football game on Saturday as Kansas faces Arizona State in the Union Jack Classic. About 60,000 tickets have been sold, with 15,000 fans travelling from the US. Organisers aim to showcase college football's unique pageantry, traditions, and passionate fandom, which former NFL quarterback Robert Griffin III says more closely resembles European football culture than the NFL. "The fandom around college football is better... it's more similar to world football," Griffin told BBC Sport.

Actor Paul Rudd and Jason Sudeikis are notable Kansas alumni, while player Calvin Clements is a fifth-generation Jayhawk. The event partners with the British American Football Association, British Universities and Colleges Sport, and the Jacksonville Jaguars. Organiser Dubiski has secured a multi-year deal with Wembley and plans to expand to other European cities and potentially add basketball games.

Success will be measured by fan experience and an exciting, high-scoring game.
