England winger Tommy Freeman has committed his future to Premiership champions Northampton Saints, signing a new deal to remain at Franklin's Gardens for the foreseeable future. The 25-year-old, who made his Saints debut in 2019, has become a key figure at the club, amassing 118 appearances and scoring 79 tries. Freeman featured prominently in both of Saints' recent Premiership final victories, crossing for tries in the 2024 win over Bath and the 2026 triumph over Exeter Chiefs.

His decision to stay follows a trend of contract extensions at the club, with teammates Fin Smith, Fraser Dingwall, and Alex Mitchell also committing their futures. Freeman credited the supportive coaching staff and strong group dynamics for his choice, stating he wants to continue growing within the Saints system while remaining involved with England. Following his England debut in 2021, he has won 30 caps and scored 11 tries.

He also featured for the British and Irish Lions on their 2025 tour of Australia. Saints director of rugby Phil Dowson welcomed the news, calling it a huge boost for the club's recruitment and retention cycle. Head coach Sam Vesty suggested Freeman's versatility across the backline, including potential full-back coverage, makes him a valuable asset for the squad's future plans.
