Former Wales striker Sam Vokes backs Ashley Williams to 'command respect' in Craig Bellamy's backroom staff. Williams, a 42-year-old Uefa A Licence holder, joins the Wales set-up as an assistant coach alongside Alan Sheehan. The former Swansea boss and pundit replaces Piet Cramers and James Rowberry.

Vokes, a Euro 2016 semi-final squad member, feels Williams' leadership experience will be an asset for younger players. Having played under Williams as captain, Vokes believes his former teammate can speak from experience in the dugout. Williams completed his coaching badges with the Football Association of Wales alongside Vokes.

He will make his dugout debut away to Portugal on Thursday, September 24.
