John Hedges paid tribute to late trainer Ricky Hatton by wearing a T-shirt with images of Hatton at the weigh-in for Saturday's fight with Pat Brown in Manchester.

Hedges, unbeaten in 12 professional fights, faces Brown for the vacant British and Commonwealth cruiserweight titles. Brown has won all six of his fights by knockout.

The contest was moved from Planet Ice in Altrincham to the larger Co-op Live arena due to ticket demand. Matchroom promoter Eddie Hearn expects a crowd of around 5,000.

Brown, who represented Team GB at the 2024 Olympics, was greeted by chants of "Oh, Patrick the Bomber." Both fighters weighed 14st 3lb (90kg). "This is what I was born to do," Brown said.
