None of the opening nine fixtures of week four resulted in a home victory, with four draws and away victories for Ipswich Town, Nottingham Forest, Arsenal, Brighton and Hove Albion and Manchester City.

If Newcastle stop Leeds from taking all three points at Elland Road, it will mean that for only the fourth time in Premier League history, a whole matchweek will have passed without a home win. The rare feat has not happened since 23-24 September 2000. Back then, seven of the 10 matches resulted in draws, with away wins for Southampton, West Ham United and Charlton Athletic.

The previous two occurrences were December 1996 and Boxing Day 1994. This is the 1,308th round of fixtures since the Premier League started in August 1992. With three previous occurrences in the 1,307 full rounds of Premier League fixtures to date, it means a weekend with zero home wins has taken place on 0.22% of matchweeks.

That works out at roughly once every 11-and-a-half seasons in a 38-week campaign.
