Unlike startups such as Lucid and Rivian that burned through millions to scale production, Aptera will leverage Launch Design's existing large facilities. Launch will ship finished sub-assemblies to Carlsbad for final assembly and validation, eliminating the need for long assembly lines or massive component warehouses at Aptera's modest commercial building. Additionally, Launch Design's international supply chain enables lower cost of goods through volume pricing that Aptera could not achieve independently given its smaller scale.

The partnership incentivizes Launch Design to ensure Aptera's success through its new equity stake.
