Manchester City chief executive Ferran Soriano told fellow European club bosses the legal battle with the Premier League will take 'a lot more time' to conclude. This follows news that City had been found guilty of all but one of 115 charges related to breaching the league's financial rules. Soriano made the remarks at the end of an EFC board meeting in Copenhagen on Monday, stating it had taken eight years to reach this point and would take significantly longer to resolve.

He emphasized City disagreed with the ruling but remained confident of winning. The eight-year timeline refers to the Premier League's investigation opened in 2018. Soriano declined media questions after the meeting, which was attended by figures including Manchester United's Jean-Claude Blanc and Everton owner Dan Friedkin.

Alleged breaches include failing to report accurate financial information for nine seasons from 2009 and not providing full details of player contract remuneration between 2010-11 and 2015-16. City chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak had previously expressed confidence in proving innocence. The Premier League has declined to comment since the verdict emerged.
