The Samsung SmartTag3 is the first generation to support both Android and iOS devices, marking a significant upgrade from the three-year-old SmartTag2. It is 35% smaller and 33% lighter due to the removal of the built-in key ring, requiring separate silicone and loop cases for attachment. The tag offers improved detection range up to 60m (200ft) via Bluetooth 6.0 Channel Sounding for Compass View, three times farther than its predecessor, with UWB precision when available.

It leverages the Galaxy Find Network of 900 million compatible devices worldwide for crowd-sourced tracking. Features include Lost Mode via NFC, Place Notification for geofence alerts, Movement Detection Alert, Left Behind Alert, and Location History to review a tagged item’s path. Rated IP67, it withstands submersion under 1 meter of water for 30 minutes.

Powered by a coin cell, battery life extends to 550 days (10% improvement over SmartTag2’s 500 days), or up to 790 days in Power Saving Mode (from 700 days). The SmartTag3 launches in South Korea on October 7, with US expansion soon and broader availability next year in Black and White.
