The European smartphone market recorded its lowest Q2 shipment volume since 2023, with Counterpoint Research estimating 35 million units for April–June—a 10% year-over-year decline. Spiraling inflation, the Iran conflict, and component price hikes drove the downturn.

Apple and Samsung each captured 34% of shipments, followed by Xiaomi at 15%, Oppo (including OnePlus and Realme) at 4%, and Honor at 3%. Western Europe performed relatively better thanks to strong Apple growth and marginal Samsung gains, while Eastern Europe suffered as the budget segment contracted.

Analysts warn of further declines ahead, citing low inventory levels and predicting the budget segment will take the biggest hit in coming quarters.
