Suno has introduced its new v6 family of AI music models, marking the formal start of its partnership with major labels Warner Music and BMG. The v6 series includes three models: v6, v6-wild, and v6-mini. The flagship v6 model is described as "reliable, precise," and capable of delivering polished music across genres.

For experimental use, v6-wild offers less predictable outputs to serve as a brainstorming partner. The v6-mini model is available to free accounts, while v6 and v6-wild require Pro or Premier subscriptions. The new models are faster than predecessors, enabling near-instant track generation.

Features include natural language editing of song sections, multi-source mashups, precise sampling, and enhanced multi-modal understanding—allowing song generation from audio, images, video, or emotional descriptions. Users can now replace single lyrics without regenerating entire tracks. Suno's chief product officer, Jack Brody, confirmed the v6 family was trained on new data, including licensed content from partners like Warner and BMG, and user data, with extensive R&D to make them subjectively the best on the market.

This launch follows Warner's 2025 settlement dropping its copyright lawsuit in exchange for a licensing agreement granting artists control over AI use of their work. Brody stated the partnership begins generating revenue for partners on September 9 and enables new product experiences with artists. Despite this, a 2026 leak revealed Suno previously scraped decades of music from YouTube, Deezer, and other platforms to train older models, which are now being retired as v6 rolls out.
