Apple has internally prototyped, tested, and considered launching a modified Apple Pencil for its upcoming foldable iPhone, according to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman. However, Gurman added that it was "unlikely" that Apple releases this prototyped accessory alongside its first foldable iPhone. The prototype stylus was described as "stubbier" than existing Apple Pencil models and would attach to the side of the device for storage and charging, similar to current stylus designs.

This attachment point poses a problem as it could interfere when opening the foldable without using the stylus. Gurman also noted that a stylus could leave marks on the delicate foldable display, a concern shared by other manufacturers like Samsung with its S Pens for foldable devices. The foldable iPhone is expected to debut on September 9, where it will be seen if the stylus progresses beyond the prototype stage.

On a more certain note, Gurman reported Apple is testing white and dark gray ceramic cases for the upcoming Apple Watch Series 12, along with a new smartwatch feature that continuously collects heart-rate data throughout the day. Additionally, Apple is revamping its fitness and health app to resemble those of Whoop and Oura, with a potential major Apple Watch redesign possibly delayed until 2028.
