Hammack noted spending is "very resilient" in her district. An AI-driven boom in construction and manufacturing continues to power growth.

Fed funds futures pricing puts the probability of an October hike at roughly 65%. However, Patrick Harker, former Philadelphia Fed president now at Wharton School, cautioned the economy relies heavily on data center build-outs while the rest "glides." Beth Ann Bovino, chief economist at US Bank, said another rate hike is becoming "very real" given economic strength.
