Fake profiles and AI-generated announcements created false social proof. Victims were pressured through 'mentors' using Chat GPT to generate emotionally manipulative messages requiring escalating payments for 'tasks' or 'missions.' Final stage demanded large 'verification deposits' or 'compensation settlements' before scammers blocked victims.

The network also used Chat GPT for business operations like API integration and financial analysis. OpenAI identified self-identified scam workers in Cambodia seeking tax advice, aligning with Chinese-led operations reported in the country.
