Needed Miami double overtime to defeat unranked Florida State 43-35, marking the second-highest combined score in the rivalry’s history. Miami moves to No. 1 in the updated poll, followed by unbeaten BYU at No. 2 after its win over Notre Dame.
Ohio State holds at No. 3 despite Indiana’s loss, which ended the Hoosiers’ 22-game winning streak. Georgia drops to No. 4 after losing to Auburn, while Notre Dame falls to No. 5. Ole Miss enters the top 10 at No. 9 after defeating Missouri, and Texas Tech remains undefeated at No. 8.
UCLA and Utah also rise, both now 6-0. Tennessee’s win over Alabama propels the Vols to No. 11, and Kentucky improves to No. 12 after beating Oklahoma. Alabama’s back-to-back losses mark a first for the season.
Key upcoming games include Miami vs. Pittsburgh, BYU at UCF, and Ohio State at USC on Oct. 31.
