NHL Injury & Roster Moves

The Colorado Avalanche confirmed that forward Nazem Kadri will miss an undetermined number of games after sustaining a finger injury, according to coach Jared Bednar on Thursday, adding immediate roster pressure. In contrast, the Ottawa Senators are getting a key defenseman back sooner than expected, as Thomas Chabot is slated to return for Thursday's contest against the Panthers just 17 days after suffering a broken arm. Meanwhile, the Minnesota Wild bolstered their defensive corps by signing former UConn standout Viking Gustafsson Nyberg to a two-year, entry-level contract commencing this season.
