Apple's new iPhone 18 Pro models feature significantly faster USB-C charging compared to the iPhone 17 Pro lineup, according to a video shared by YouTube channel Xiaobai's Tech Reviews and spotted by Ice Universe. The iPhone 18 Pro Max can charge from 0% to 100% in just 55 minutes with a capable charger, a 26-minute improvement over the iPhone 17 Pro Max's 81 minutes. The device reaches 50% battery in 15 minutes, down from 20 minutes on the previous generation.

During testing, the iPhone 18 Pro Max hit a peak charging speed of 52W for the first 12 minutes, up from 36W on the iPhone 17 Pro Max. The smaller iPhone 18 Pro is expected to offer similar charging performance. To achieve these maximum speeds, Apple requires a power adapter with 60W or higher and Adjustable Voltage Supply (AVS), such as its 40W Dynamic Power Adapter with 60W Max priced at $39.

Charging speeds naturally slow later in the session to prevent overheating. The real-world benefit depends on user habits — those who top up throughout the day will see meaningful time savings, while overnight chargers may notice less impact.
